Anne’s 25 year accounting career began in small CPA firms where she provided auditing, financial, tax and advisory services to closely held businesses. She advised key stakeholders in maximizing business results and owners’ personal wealth and minimizing taxes. After a decade serving individuals and businesses in public accounting, Anne began her roles in leadership positions in tax exempt/non-profit organizations. She spent twelve years with The Rideshare Company, attaining the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the accounting, financial reporting and customer service areas. Since 2008, Anne has held the position of Chief Financial Officer of New Samaritan Corporation (NSC) and Elderly Housing Management, Inc. (EHM). NSC/EHM is the largest non-profit provider of elderly housing management in Connecticut. As CFO, she serves several affiliated non-profit organizations whose business lines include healthcare (operating a skilled nursing facility) and property management for elderly and low income housing units. Serving clients and colleagues in the accounting industry has been important to Anne. However, her greatest passion is her commitment to advocacy and compassionate care for the elderly. Anne was a family caregiver for ten years and gratefully acknowledges the role CCCI played in providing care management for her elderly mother. CCCI and its dedicated staff helped Anne’s mother to age in place and appreciate that there really is no place like home. Anne has expanded her knowledge of aging, elder services, and related issues as she completed her Master’s degree in Human Development/Gerontology. Her good friends include wonderful people and her two dogs, Honey & Red. Anne enjoys hiking, winter sports and warm chocolate chip cookies.
